Eligibility Criteria:
Applying appliers must be-
  • A Citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who has migrated to Indian with the intention to permanently settling in India.
  • A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India

Education Qualification: Applying applicants should have Master’s degree in Geology / Applied Geology or Marine Geology / Mineral exploration / Hydrogeology or Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of Indian School of Mines from recognized university or institutions.

For Geologists & Junior Hydro Geologists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates must have Master’s degree in Geology or Geological Science or Applied Geology or Mineral Exploration or Geo-Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Petroleum Geosciences or Coastal Area Studies or Petroleum Exploration or Geophysical Technology from a recognized university.

For Geophysicists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Applying applicants must have M.Sc. (Geophysics) or M.Sc. in Physics or Applied Physics or Integrated M.Sc. (Exploration Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Marine Geophysics) Or M.Sc (Applied Geophysics) or M.Sc. (Tech.) (Applied Geophysics) from a recognized university.

For Chemists Grade ‘A’ in Geological Survey of India: Candidates should have done their M. Sc. in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry or Applied Chemistry from a recognized board with good academic records.

Application Fee: Applicants need to pay application fee of Rs. 200/- whereas SC, ST, PH and female aspirants are not required to pay the fees.
Application fee will be paid in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/ State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala /State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/ Debit Card.
